international art medal exhibitions
The 42nd Japan Art Medal Exhibition
organized by JAMA, was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum from 1-8 November 2025.
During the exhibition period, this time the calendar meant that public holidays did not coincide with weekends, and as a result, visitor numbers fell short of expectations. Nevertheless, 1,256 visitors visited the museum over the seven days, excluding holidays.

A total of 416 medals and reliefs were on display, including 45 in the public competition, 18 in the members' category, 32 reference pieces from the Japan Mint, as well as medals from previous JAMA editions, FIDEM Commemorative medals editions, and medals from sponsors.

Additionally, medal works by pupils from the University of Tsukuba High School were specially displayed, showcasing an approach to art medals from an educational perspective. Chair of the judging panel, Dr. Masue Kato, attended the awards ceremony held on the exhibition's opening day and provided direct feedback to each recipient.
